Severe thunderstorm warning for
Webequie continued
Severe thunderstorms over the regions will track from west to east early this evening. Satellite shows the storms are continuing to intensify and the canadian lightning detection network indicates frequent lightning is associated. There is a possibility of large hail growing to 3 to 5 centimetres in diameter with these storms and there is a risk of a tornado. Wind gusts could reach 100 km/h with these storms.
This is a warning that severe thunderstorms are imminent or occurring in these regions. Remember some severe thunderstorms produce tornadoes..Listen for updated warnings. Emergency management Ontario recommends taking cover immediately when threatening weather approaches.
Regions in the severe thunderstorm watch are under a threat of severe weather through tonight and possibly into Thursday morning. Storms that develop tonight may strengthen very rapidly. The threats include wind gusts to 100 km/h damaging hail 3 to 5 centimetres and very heavy downpours may be associated with thunderstorms. There is also a slight risk of a tornado.
