A strong cold front will sweep across Colorado beginning late Sunday afternoon. As this front collides with the southerly moisture in place, warm temps and chance of rain will give way to snow and cold beginning late Sunday night and lasting through the week. A winter weather advisory has been posted beginning midnight tonight (0600Z - 3/23) and lasting until 6am (1200Z - 3/24). Not much snow with this one but a rude return to winter nonetheless.

After a boring couple of weeks, precipitation may move into western Colorado the remainder of this week. Although chances are less than 50%, forecast is calling for rain and possibly snow. No accumulation expected and temps are expected to remain mild. Is it spring already?

The recent mild weather in western Colorado has led to greater snow instability and thus, avalanche probabilities are higher. Weak layers buried under recent snow could give way at any time and recent assessments bear this out.

After a weekend of snow and cold, mild weather has returned to western Colorado. This mild weather is expected to last through the early part of next week. Day time temps expected to range from the upper 30's to near 50, nighttime temps in the teens and twenties. Definitely not normal for this time of year.
