Not much to report off the south/western Kansas DDC storm other then 35 to 40 mph winds and heavy rain at times. GR3 reported 2" hail but there was only pea size hail. We chased the cell from it`s start of the life cycle to the slow death. Storm was a fast mover reaching speeds of 40 to 45 mph. All in all I wished I`d stayed home No Naders We did find that there are some roads in that area that have some really DEEP SAND and turn in to cow paths

As expected, cold front surging through area. Temps started out in upper 60's and are now at 54. Preceeding winds gusted to near 50 mph and stayed sustained at 30 mph for a while. Storm cells moving sw to ne at about 50 mph. Several good lightning strikes, about .5 inches of rain, and some small hail later, things have calmed down. Another surge of moisture is to the sw moving ne and should be impacting northwest Colorado soon.

Had an EXCELLENT chase today! Hit two severe storms along I-40, first one 40 miles east of Barstow, Ca about 5pm, then the second one 35 miles west of Needles, Ca around 7pm.
